You are reading a site about caring for someone with dementia. You have enough to keep track of without wondering whether the person writing has a stake in what they are telling you. So here is the whole picture, plainly.
Two things fund this site
The Care Binder. A 56-page fill-in binder sold directly here for CA$14.99. That is our own product, and it is the main way the site pays for itself.
Affiliate links. Some links to products mentioned in the letters are affiliate links. If you click one and buy something, we may earn a small commission from the retailer. It costs you nothing extra — the price you pay is exactly the same as it would be if you had gone to that retailer directly.
The programmes we belong to
The Dementia House Call participates in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon. As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.
We also participate in affiliate programmes through the Awin network, which connects sites like this one with retailers and services.
The rules we follow
These matter more than the disclosure itself, so they are worth stating in full.
Nothing appears here because it pays. Products are mentioned because they are genuinely useful to families doing this work. Commission has never been the reason something was included, and a higher rate has never moved something up a page.
Nothing here is a recommendation for the person you are caring for. Some products mentioned on this site are health-related — monitors, safety equipment, wound care supplies. Where one appears, it is because it is used in practice and is genuinely useful to some families. That is not the same as it being right for your person. Whether it suits them depends on their history, their other conditions, and an actual examination — and that decision belongs with their own physician or nurse.
This matters most with anything that looks like a wound, an infection, or a sudden change. Those need assessing, not shopping. If you are unsure whether something needs a clinician rather than a purchase, assume it does and make the call. Nothing on this site is medical advice.
No sponsored posts, no paid placements, no gifted-product reviews. Nobody pays to appear in a letter, and no letter has ever been written at a company’s request.
Say no to all of it and the site still works. Every letter is free, and complete, and requires nothing from you. If you buy nothing at all, you still get the whole thing.

Questions
If something here is unclear, or you think a recommendation is wrong, we would rather hear it. Reply to any letter you have received and it will reach us.
